King George Boulevard Burger King in London Square - Undergoing Renovations

Evidently, the King George Boulevard Burger King at London Square has been undergoing renovation for a while now. I know it's not the healthiest food in the world, but I like the occasional burger once in a while and I don't have a whole helluva lot to spend on fast food. If I want to eat healthy, I'll eat at home. Anyways, these shots were taken with my iPhone 4s as far as the progress a couple nights ago when I went to pick up my wife from work. I'm gonna take the DSLR tonight, I'll see if I can get some better shots and update the blog.

Welcome To "This Is Our Surrey"

This Is Our Surrey will touch on major topics surrounding the city where we live as well as my personal photography of the city. The reason I call this blog "This Is Our Surrey" is that it is inclusive of the fact that my family lives here, that we call this our home and we, as anyone who lives in this city, want the best for Surrey.

My family has lived here in Surrey from 2006 onwards; my children go to a school in here and my oldest plays house league hockey for the Surrey Minor Hockey Assn. We call Surrey our home and probably will for the foreseeable future.

I've lived in Maple Ridge (as a child), I've lived in Vancouver (during my twenties and early 30s) and here in Surrey is where I call home (in my late 30s to mid-40s). I want to see the politicians that we elect into office make the right choices for the growth of this vibrant city that we call home. And some of the choices that our elected officials have chosen to make recently have made my blood boil. And those are some of the issues that I will be touching on in this blog. Transit, Urban Growth and Nature Conservation of our wild spaces.

Note that the Urban Planning is from the viewpoint of someone who hasn't taken urban planning as a university degree so I'm just a citizen interjecting my views on how I see city development as an ordinary citizen.

I am a photographer, that shoots mainly wildlife imagery, but occasionally sidelines to architecture and buildings. As a former realtor, I enjoy the creation of images of buildings. But ultimately wildlife/nature photography is my passion.
